Dr Truphena Choti: Empowering under-served communities is a remarkable priority

Dear AfriThrive Friends,

As we enter June, I wish to express my gratitude for your unwavering support and take a moment to reflect on our accomplishments.

I am thrilled to share that our Night of Excellence Gala last month was a resounding success! This memorable evening of joy and celebration wouldn’t have been possible without the dedication of our staff, volunteers, and partners.

Your commitment to our mission of empowering underserved communities and alleviating hunger is truly remarkable.

May I also like to extend a warm welcome to Tanya Spandhla, our new Farm and Food Education Manager. With her expertise and passion for sustainable agriculture and education, we’re confident she will make significant contributions to our programs and the communities we serve. Tanya, we are thrilled to have you on board!

I want to highlight the tremendous efforts invested in preparing and planting culturally-appropriate vegetables on our Cultural farm in Poolesville. Our team and volunteers have worked tirelessly to grow a diverse range of healthy and culturally significant crops.

This achievement reinforces our commitment to providing nutritious food access to those who need it most.

I extend my heartfelt appreciation to each and every one of you who has contributed time, resources, and support. Your generosity keeps us going, and I encourage you to consider further involvement. Whether through volunteering your time or making a donation, your actions can make a significant impact on the lives of countless families in need.

With the arrival of summer, we anticipate a busy season ahead. There are exciting projects and initiatives on the horizon, and I am eager to embark on this journey with all of you.

Thank you once again for being an integral part of the AfriThrive community. Together, we can build sustainable communities where every family thrives.

Wishing you a wonderful month ahead.

Warm regards.

Dr Truphena Choti is the CEO and Founder of AfriThrive.
