AfriThrive Launches Infrastructure Taskforce to Guide Next Phase of Growth

AfriThrive launched its Infrastructure Taskforce on January 29, 2026, bringing together eight leaders from food distribution, agriculture, government, and nonprofit management. The advisory group will help the Maryland nonprofit plan the buildings, land, and operations it needs after serving 13,135 families across three counties in 2025.

AfriThrive Adds Cold-Chain Capacity to Montgomery County’s Food Access Network

On December 15, AfriThrive unveiled a new refrigerated truck and refrigerated trailer during a community celebration in Silver Spring. The new cold chain capacity expands AfriThrive’s ability to safely transport and distribute fresh, culturally meaningful foods across the county, supporting Food as Medicine initiatives, school based food access programs, mobile food distributions, and community pantries.
